This toy is made from 3 separate parts:  a bamboo wand (24" or 36" long), a hemp cord with swivel and a replaceable bird bird assembly.  All 3 parts are replaceable.

• The wand assembly is made from natural bamboo.  On the end there is a coast lock swivel to connect your hemp cord assembly

• To replace the string simply open up the swivel, install the string and close the swivel

• At the end of the hemp cord is another swivel.  Use this swivel to connect Feather Birds or Feather mice

• The Feather Bird feathers can be adjusted as they are not glued into the tubing. You can experiment with different flight dynamics by adjusting the "twist" of the feathers.  You can also try just using 2 feathers - the spin will be a bit quicker and the bird will be more noisy.  It's really neat to try different flight options.

You and your cat will have endless fun playing with this toy.  As with other stringed toys, please keep this toy behind a closed door to avoid any choking or strangling.  Cats are very clever and curious and some parts of this toy could be dangerous if left unattended.  Please contact us with any questions or concerns. 

The Bird Catapult system consists of 4 parts:  1 ea. 8" bamboo lanuching stick wtih rubber band and 3 ea. specialized cork birds.  Each cork bird has 3 feathers that are adjustable and replaceable.  

The Catapult relies on physics similar to that of a sling-shot.  Place the "hook" portiong of the cork into the rubber band, pull back and let it fly!   There is a bit of technique involved in getting the birds to launch properly.  Here is the best way to get perfect launches every time:

1. Firmly grasp the bamboo wand in your left hand

2. With your opposite hand, grab the bird with your thumb and forefinger

3. Place the "hook" portion of the cork onto the rubber band

4. Pull the bird back to put tension on the rubber band and then let go.
